To do its job, Formly stores the following directly on your device, inside Chrome's own extension storage:
Your personal data (vault, autofill details, work history, education, drafts) is encrypted at rest using AES-GCM with a key generated on your device. That key is also stored locally and never transmitted - it protects against casual access to your stored data, but it is not a substitute for keeping your own device and Chrome profile secure.
Formly is built to automatically ignore certain field types - passwords, card and bank details, national ID and security-question-style fields - so it never reads, stores, or fills them, and there's no setting that turns this on. This detection is automatic and pattern-based; while built to catch the field types above, no automated detection can be guaranteed perfect on every website. Always check sensitive fields yourself before relying on any autofill tool.
Some application forms ask about things like disability, ethnicity, religion, or immigration status. Formly is built to avoid automatically saving answers to these questions. If you choose to manually paste this kind of information into the Vault yourself, it's stored under the same local, encrypted conditions as everything else - but we'd encourage you not to store this kind of information if you can avoid it.
Formly makes no network requests of any kind. There is no Formly account, no cloud sync, no analytics, and no advertising or tracking code. Nothing you type can leave your device through Formly, because there is nowhere for it to go.
You can view or delete any saved details, drafts, work history, education entries, or vault answers at any time from the extension's Settings panel. Uninstalling the extension removes everything Formly has stored.
If Formly ever introduces an optional feature that involves a server - such as cloud sync, an account, or a paid Pro tier billed through a third-party payment processor - this policy will be updated first, and you'll be shown the changes and asked to review them before that feature is switched on for you.
Formly is intended for people old enough to be applying for jobs or further study, and is not directed at children.
If this policy changes, the "Effective" date above will be updated. Material changes will also be flagged inside the extension.
Questions about this policy can be sent to formlyextension@outlook.com.
